About time some council has taken a sensible view on parking restrictions and not seen it as a cash cow to milk the long suffering motorist of their hardearned.

Mayor Darryn Lyons, that photographer fella with the weird multi painted hairdo, has made a good move in his early days as Mayor of Geelong.

Parking limits extended from 1 to 2 hours.
Grace periods extended from 10 to 15 minutes.
Free parking on Saturday.

The traders in Geelong must be happy about this too and I certainly hope this sensible descision by the Mayor is taken up by other councils.

Will be interesting to see what the actual benefits are.
Still have to pay for parking during the week, just you have to move less often and get an extra 5 mins to do it.

Guess my rates will be going up to cover the revenue loss
