Labour hire
A question has come up re labour hire/recruitment and hours. I know that if you are called in a min payment is 4 hours , but are they required or obliged to say how long above 4 or even 8 hours you are expected to stay ? One opinion has been you should get an estimateprior to starting, and another to be asked to stay back beyond the 8 hours. digging about through old placement forms I found nothing to support or refute these ideas.Any ideas ?

Have been in labour hire as a industrial prostitute for about twenty years. Well far as I know it is minimum of for hours. Any time after eight hours is over time and is up to the employee to accept it. Mind you if you don`t you will most likely be deemed to have the wrong attitude and be replaced. They should be able to and should give you a estimate of the time beyond the four hours. Casual labour hire is though by the hour, so if you are employed with more than a days notice the four hours does not imply. You are simply hired by the hour and fired with a hours notice. Thats why most company's like labour hire.

That is what the consensus was , but then leaves the question of A; not really wanting the O/T and B; neither the agency nor company is willing to state the hours required.
Do like the comparison to prostitution though , I have always called agencies pimps !
