I have to wonder how long your friend has been living on the Mornington peninsula? I know of families who have spent every summer camping on the foreshore there for 4 generations. One of the many reasons that I would not choose to live there, surely most others have the same choice. Anti-social and inconsiderate behaviour is the norm wherever humans gather.
The council has now introduced a ballot system this now stops the same people claiming the same camp spot year after year, this stops large groups camping in mob on the same spot.

Asian tourists are by far the worst. They'll drive at 15kph on anything that is slightly twisty, and stop in the middle (literally) of the road to see a koala.

After 15 years of driving the coast road regularly, nothing suprises me anymore.

Interestingly though (probably demographics) Lorne's population goes up 3500 percent in the tourist season, but the generally are well behaved.
With out stereo typing we get them up here in the hills, 1st you come across is a slow moving vehicle ,usuaslly a toyota ( vehicle of choice) brakes uneccessary on ever corner, holds up traffic behind, seems to be daydreaming, occupants usually a grand mother in back, a couple of kids and mother and father at the front. A red and gold laced chandlier of sorts hanging from mirror. So involved in their own cocoon and totally removed from any other road user. After enough is enough I trip the horn button., then the look from them in the rear mirror and the reality check that the road is not only their to use exclusively. Unfortunately you can now pick them and the correct guess rate is 9/10.

Is this a swim suit company based in Byron Bay. I bought an ex girlfriend one of these whilst I was based in East Timor years ago. She wouldn't wear it outside the house. It was yellow too.

It was an eye opener for me on how people behave whilst they are on holidays forgetting that people actually live in the invaded area.
It's a long 2 months for the locals.
Kind feel sorry for the locals that have to live there.
I have never seen this behaviour at other touristy beach places, interstate etc. I might be a Mornington penisula thing???
    Hmmm.

    Must be bad there.

Perhaps you should or shouldn't go to Bali to see more than a few dinky di, true blues and their little women and kiddies interacting with the locals...........

The only time my (then 16 year old) daughter told me that she was ashamed to be an Australian.

    Noice.

    Cheers,

True, I think a few "Aussies" should be ashamed of their antics over there. It's said the the Balinese are lovely and Love Aussies.
I wonder what the Balinese truthfully think of Aussie Bogans
I think the Balinese only cop it on the chin for the tourist dollar.

I have always found it amusing that people who live in resort towns have the gall to complain about the tourists who provide them with their living.

On the Gold and sunshine Coasts it is quite normal for beach goers to walk from their holiday accommodation to the beach in their swim gear. If they happen to also visit the shops on their way to and from, so what.
