Sometimes there is more than one answer to a question, or a differant way of getting the problem fixed.

So if we locked a thread when we get an answer to a problem then we might never know if there is another way of going about it.

You take me far too seriously.

I never called for locking threads all I suggested was if you have had a problem and posted it and have found a solution then post the solution 8)

All I asked for was an open forum without formaliity and title .

    Chill out OK

methinks you got the stutters there one-iota

*jumps on shoebox cos dont want to draw a crowd*

personally i think that if we take all our "tech Q's" into the tech tips and tricks section and TRY and keep it free of all spamming and spurious posts and general crap talk, and keep all that aforementioned traffic in the general chat section , then anyone requiring a tech problem fix can go to the tech section and have a reasonable good chance of not finding any crap in there to sift thru! 8)

*steps off shoebox as it has now crumbled under pressure ops: *
    just a thought 8)

Naaa I dont take anyone too seriously.

Just read your comment on closing off a thread and thought you ment locking it.

Just me reading it the wrong way is all.

I like to think this forum is OPEN and informal.

The titles are really only there for fun and mean nothing when you come right down to it.

The only title in here that really means anything at all is the one of "administrator"

but he is a kitten once you get to know him

    Hey,

I agree with Ferno there are times and places.

The tech section requires different responses and conduct.

I'm relieved that I am not taken too seriously otherwise I wouldn't be here in spite of my stutter

sometimes i get a little cranky when someone comes in here and starts complaining about all the spamming and "crap" in the forums, especially this one ! as far as i'm concerned keep for sale in the for sale, tech tips in tech tips and so on, there is enough different forums to choose from ,and since this one is the "general chat" , i would expect to find all sorts of "general crap" ops: i mean chat in here, as long as it stays in here i think everyone should be happy, oh and maybe in the welcome sections but not overdone 8)

    not cranky now!

No hard in banter as long as it is done in the right place.

    Totally agree Ferno

Keeps the forum light and freindly in the general section, like sitting around a nice camp fire with your mates, oh and matesses, just in case knight is reading this.

    Ferno,

Agreed and soap boxes aside the banter of the general and intro sections is fair game the rest is serious and subject to moderation.

    Forum janitors on notice 8O
