yes, I cant believe that Roma had the gall to do the victory waves etc from the car when he should have been 3rd. How can you tolerate being "first' when you obviously were not the best driver/kit on the day? Totally ruined Dakar for me, poor Peterhansel to have to smile and be polite and supportive.......... I reckon the Dakar 'bosses' of the rally should have said to the All 4 Mini Team - 'you want to do that you will ALL be disqualified', they need to have a good look at the rules and change them if need be. same goes for team rules in any motorsport I reckon..... rant over

1st and 2nd pulled over and stopped (6 minutes IIRC) and waited for 3rd to come by. Mini 1,2,3 team orders

If it was not for Nasser getting a 1hour penalty for missing a way point he would have been on the top step.
I think Mini was more afraid of the three of them battling it out and risking not having any minis on the podium. Yes it took away from the race and would have made for an interesting last day.
In the pass it was common for teams not to challenge for 1st on the last day - a gentlemans agreement, the same thing happens in the tour de France.

yeah your right with other sports on the last day.........I guess they were lucky a non mini tea wasn't in striking distance

if the way point wasn't missed and they were allowed to race it would have been super interesting

For me, the end was not a race, it was a parade. Very disappointing. What a farce.
I agree, the race organisers need to alter the rules to forbid such 'team orders'
    Don.

You are right with that, Nasser does not like coming 2nd - very competitive. He did well to get back to 3rd.
