Now Now boys best you hear from a Volvo enthusiast.
I had an '87 245GL before my Disco. It would be the best car I have owned and I loved it. It was a light metallic blue in color, full GLE instrument pack, tinted glass and Simmons V5 15" wheels. It had 256000ks on it when I sold it for peanuts. Never missed a beat and broke down once (fuel pump).
So, the verdict...well, it is an interesting concept but it's not the first I've seen. Me personally, that car would have been better treated to a few mods such as a turbo/intercooler, modified ECU, bigger injectors and exhaust, lowered suspension and a good tidy up with some nice wheels. 357kw is entirely possable with this engine. A real "sleeper".
Regards
Robbo
I like it but it really looks like an 80's swap, they could have at least chose a chassis that would fit the track/ wheelbase of the volvo and that rear step thing is just fugly. Now a landy chassis with V8 would have made a much better marriage.
Why would you do that to an old Volvo when in Europe you can buy the 740 or 760 that came fitted with the VW 2.4 straight 6 Turbo Diesel... Indirect, pigs to start, but once warm they sound awesome!! I fitted one of these into a Ser 2 SWB. It sounded like a truck on steroids and went like hell!!! ;)
