Where I work - company supplied vehicle for managers is a choice of a Prado or a Prado ................... or you can take a "vehicle assistance" allowance as part of your salary package and provide your own vehicle "commensurate with the position" as it says in your letter of contract.

There used to be about 6 Prado's parked downstairs. Now only the GM still has one (and it's the oldest that we had - a 120 series). The rest have been handed back, and everyone has opted to buy their own vehicle.

    Mining Manager - Discovery 3
    Processing Manager - Discovery 4
Plant Manager - Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8
Safety Manager - Jeep Wrangler (very well set-up one too )
    Estimating Manager - Subaru Forrester
Chief Bean Counter - Nissan X-Trail

If we fly to site, the vehicles that we are given to use are usually either Prado's or in some cases, the new base model 200 series Cruiser (with the rear barn doors), or if they really don't like you - a Hi-lux.

There's a level of mutual respect between the Jeep and Landrover owners (often go on camping trips etc together). Those who drive what I call the "disposables" have a bit of a dig occasionally, but all in good fun.

The worst one for having a dig at both the Landrovers and the Jeeps is the bloke who actually buys all the company vehicles and looks after leases / servicing / maintenance etc ............................ and he drives a Yaris.

We all tell him to be very careful where he parks the Yaris, in case one of us mistakes it for a wheel chock.
    Cheers .........

I'm using that term from now on.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.
