Have you tried contacting Aust Post about this. A while ago I was getting ready for work one afternoon and saw the postie van pull up in the driveway. Thought that I would get a knock on the door soon, which didn't happen, just a card in the letterbox. Apparently I wasn't home.

Sent a complaint through to Aust Post and was quite surprised at how seriously they treated it. Never saw that driver again.

Had the same thing happen to me... not only but also parcels (packets) dropped between front door and driveway,,and on the front lawn.
That's when I switched to Parcel Lockers. - they send you an SMS and email with the magic code.
Only down side is they usually only leave it there 48 hours before they take it out and you need to present yourself in person to receive your present...:o
As a free service I quite like it .:)

Recently purchased an expensive item from OS, was told delivery would be 4 days. 10 days later still no parcel and was starting to get worried, found out that Aus Post had tried to deliver at the 4 day mark but did not leave a card and when I finally located it I was told if I had arrived an hour later the parcel would already have been returned to sender.
As I was not happy and commented that no cards were left advising parcel needed to be picked up the postal employe couldn't have cared less.

I have complained. Frequently. Verbally and in writing.

The locker system is available at that depot 10 km away and I was tempted - but a lot of ebay sellers will not ship to a po box, locked bag, etc...

The driver I don't mind. Parcels are delivered by van and, in most cases, the vendor puts "leave in green Land Rover in driveway" signs on the parcel and the parcel deliverer does exactly that - whether I am here or not.

It's the little ***** on the motorcycle that gives me the irrits.

The last time I complained, our neighbours received our mail and a parcel I had been waiting for never arrived.

they are suppose to send out a second card after 7 days it is very rare they return parcels . Australia post is on twitter and they will follow up all complaints if you hit on them

way back when I was with aus post delivering at trigg in w.a. a large envelop had a message on it "postie please pop under door " so I wrote on the envelop sorry I could not fit so I shall just leave this envelop instead . the good old days :)
