I guess that's what I'm kind of alluding to, not all getting VCs but maybe some more recognition in the media, I'm sure they all carry out amazing feats of bravery some of which may or may not been seen nor recognized. But I think there should be just some more recognition towards them as they all do an amazing job not just the VCs.

Yes, for sure. I've always found it very strange how you never hear much of what goes on over there. He sounded like a hell of a guy - R.I.P.

And again I point out the class and outright dignity with which his family have held themselves, obviously still struggling but so incredibly stoic.

I am proud of them and I am damn sure Cam BAIRD would have been very proud.

They are doing their job. What they joined for. Where it falls down, is the support they get from Veterans Affairs , when they get home, when the problems arise. I read that there is about 200 million dollars being spent on the commemoration of Gallipoli around the Nation, and for whom? Politicians, hangers on, those who want to hang on the coat tails of that history, people who have never faced the danger, and there are people coming back, broken in body & spirit, who are being pushed in the background, as have almost every group of Serviceman & Women who have put their hand up. So, when you are at a service, feeling warm & fuzzy, think of the genuine " heroes" , I think I can guarantee those in 1915 would nod in agreement. Bob

Im not a big fan of Jeremy CLARKSON on top gear but his specials etc can be very good.

This one on the history of the Victoria Cross (granted with an English slant but understandably) is very very good.

Make a coffee, sit down and spend almost an hour...its worth it.
