I love our BA Falcon wagon. I didn't think I would, because they look as exciting as washing machines. But it gets great economy on the highway, it's powerful but still simple enough for me to work on, parts are availabe easily, and it's not too big or too expensive like an equivalent SUV would be. Affordable family wagons like this are a dying breed but this thing is just perfect for long-distance cruising in Oz. I hate to think what we'll have to replace it with.

And then there's the XC Falcon coupe I'll have to buy one day. Oh, baby . . .
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

It was seen as a threat and the motoring journalists of the day gave it a bad rap. The engine was a variant of the famous Rover/Buick alloy 3500. To be fair it was made by Leyland and suffered the usual Leyland quality problems such as bits of trim falling off etc.
We had a purple one. Ah... the seventies.
Ours was flawless and never had an issue.
    Wish I still had it.
