Yep. If it's not Infiniti, then it's Van Heusen shirts or Toyota cars.

Touch them (even if you try and hit the X to close the ad)and they grab your whole screen, play you a wonderful tune and take about a week to close.

I know the free app stops that problem, but I am normally browsing several sites at once.

Turn off JavaScript while browsing and they will go away. Bit of a pain sometimes as some sites and functions require it. I have got good at toggling it on and off.

Those ads have been really bad lately - they used to only come up occasionally, now it's on every page.

Umm... I'm not that computer literate.... What's JavaScript? Do IPads even have that? I'm not using Tapatalk either... Like the format as it is, and it works...

Javascript is what allows all sorts of content to run in your browsers and yes IPads have it in Safari . On my desktop running Firefox I use NoScript addon which allows me to select what runs on what site. this tutorial might help with Ipads and Apple stuff in general. I have adblock installed but some time the owner asked for the site to be white listed. So I allow ads on AULRO, even so, I have never seen anything like that.

The issue is on Safari or Chrome on the iPad. Funnily enough I've only had these ads since upgrading to iOS 7.

I haven't upgraded to ios7 and I still get them. Tried several different browsers other than safari and I still get them....

Turning JavaScript off is the only solution I've found.

Sitec, yes the ipad has JavaScript. To turn it off, go to SETTINGS - SAFARI then down the page on the RHS you have a slider to turn it on and off. Turning on the ad blocker there won't help, the ad companies are too smart for that.
