Welcome back
Sounds like a trip with the lot.

Hi all, It's been an interesting couple mths!!!! First the PC had a major meltdownHad to re- install eveything!!!!! Then last Friday I thought I would take my family to check out the whales down south!!! Dropped a heater hose and did the head on the 300tdi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dohhhhh
Had it towed to Triumph Rover at Lonsdale SA ( Great Guy's) It's interesting to note that the previous owner took the easy way out!! The Heater Matrix had corroded ( Common fault on the 300tdi), so he bypassed the heater and joined the two hoses!!!
So now I have a new head and heater matrix!!!!! new rear axle seal's!!!
So the Moral of Crawf's story is don't take the cheap option if you can avoid it as in the long run it can cost you a packet!!!![]()
Welcome back

There are two types of people in this world, good and bad. The good sleep better, but the bad seem to enjoy the waking hours
Actually I'm glad it happened now and not in December as I will be 2500klm from home 565klm from the nearest mechanic!!!!!!( Also in an area where alcohol is frowned upon!!!!!!!! It's interesting to note that it took all of 200mtrs to completely F&%@ the head on the Disco!!!! As I caught the Guage jump literally in front of my eye's!! Pulled over within second's but it still annealled the head between the exhaust chamber's!!!! So I will now be installing a secondary audible warning system my local Auto elec can do one fitted for 120.00 fitted so I think it could be a great investment!!! 8)
I must say it's great to back!!!!! 8)
Crawfy thats shocking. Im told that what happens with the TDI's when they drop water is that for a while you dont get a hot signal as the sensor is in the water jacket, when all the water drops out of course the sensor fails.
good to hear ya got things sorted
