Vehicle Technology!!!!!

It's interesting to note!!!, a mate of mine who works for an offshore mining company was in Brazil last month working for a large oil company!!!! ( Started with S i think)He was working in some remote area's and needed a reliable vehicle!!! Hence the company (SH something) gave him a 100 series Landcruiser Gxl Diesel!!!! As the trip progressed so the tracks deteriated!!! Hence the Toyo started to develop some problem's!!!!!( Ie the engine management system shutdown) The remote central locking **** itself leaving them high and dry!!!!!! After raising help on the Sat phone the company was able to raise some much needed mechanical help from a Toyo expert in the area!!! Guess what he turned up in???? 8) A S111 !!!! Go figure!!!! Had to laugh when my mate told me this story!!!!! 8)
Give me a mechanical LR minus fancy computer's anyday!!!!! 8)

I went to madagasgar last year (never again). The most common 4wd you saw in the bush was an old peugeot 505 (or similar), a LR 110 with a series 3 body or defender. Those peugoets went some amazing places.

You saw the occasional cruiser and hilux. Toyotas are good vehicles. However, you just never saw them in a a difficult to get to spot.

Electric cars, eh? That's when a dual dual dual dual battery system would come in handy...
