I would suggest that all his previous history was suppressed from being made public to ensure the defence was not able to use the resulting media hysteria and jeopardizing the prosecutions case, either way the QLD police did a stellar job in setting the trap for this piece of scum and giving justice to young Daniel.

If he makes the 20 years, then applies for parole, I doubt he'll get it.
But then, I have doubts he'll make 20 years. There's people in our jails with nothing to lose who will make life worse than hell for this rock spider.

I have nothing but admiration for the Morcombe family, for the way they've conducted themselves over the last decade, and for what they've done in Daniel's memory in protecting other kids, and undoubtedly for what they will continue to do.

One of the reasons given for lighter sentences given for prior offences . He is apparently uniuqe as a rock spider because he also a adaptive liar. Put him in a reform program and he can and did fool some of the best psychologists. He was like this in his personal life as well. Close friends had no idea what he was. A truly evil chameleon that has finally been dealt with, as with the opinions of others and my own not dealt with enough. Pity he could not be used for the good of the community as in medical research where there is a good chance of death. At least his passing would be a benefit for some.

I agree. They have been the absolute picture of dignity throughout the whole process. I hope they now have closure, and can try to get on with their lives now that they know this evil pig will not be able to hurt anyone else for many, many years.

If the bleeding heart Judge in Darwin had've sentenced this Bastard to life in prison for horrendously bashing and raping a 7 year old boy and hiding his battered body in an abandoned car and left for dead, this scumbag would still be in Prison where he belongs.
This Maggot judge in Darwin should be charged as an accessory, these Rock Spiders are never rehabilitated and should be castrated and jailed for life.
