Listen, I know you lot that drive defenders now have industrial deafness, but it seems to have rattled your brain around in your head! , how do you reckon a defender is better,
Disco, petrol or diesel
Defender,diesel
Disco, manual or auto
Defender, Manual
Disco, comfortable
Defender, uncomfortable
Disco, good off road
Defender, good off road
Disco, quiet
Defender, noisy as all buggary
Disco, cup holders
Defender, no cup holders
Disco, elec windows
Defender, manual windows
So you can see that Discos are far superior and really classy as well

Just slightly biased and inacurate ....

Well said, however my RR at the moment is a more competant 4wd than my Disco, but the Disco has all the creature comforts including glass holders....................and another chardonnay please

I have had the privilage of driving with Discos, Defenders, 110's, Series III, RR's, Hiluxes, Tritons and Subarus.
Give me a LR any day, diesel or V8
Yes I've owned <span style="font-size:36pt;line-height:100%">Landcruisers(2),Nissans,</span> Range Rovers(2) and a Disco....and..... LR Rules OK!
Schass anodder pardonnay
<span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%">TOOL BOX</span>
getting back to the subject at hand. Instead of putting a bulky tool box on your bonnet, that when full and rattling with be more awkward to lift off than a tyre, why don't you recess a tool box into each front guard. :!:
If they stay about 4" deep they shouldn't affect ground clearnace. Line the base with closed cell foam so things won't rattle . When you make your chequer plate wing tops, they could incorporate a lid for the tool boxes. They will be like "secret compartments" big enough to hide shackles, snatch straps .... (even some "urgent" tools) . And once dirty, these tools will not have to come into your precious interior - now that's something the disco drivers will appreciate - their precious velour interior.
now getting back to the hijacked thread - DEFENDERS ARE BETTER
who'd cut a hole in a disco to put a tool box!? That's because Defenders build character and attitude.
(<span style="font-size:36pt;line-height:100%">DISCLAIMER I include all series vehicles under the broad banner of Defender for the purposes of this conversation. My use of the term Defender in another forum or another time should not be taken to provide such inclusion)</span>
no need to cut holes in a Disco for tools,,
they never break down :!:
more charbloodydonney up the front please,,,
and I'll take clothseats any day over vinyl,,,
and theres a reason they put washable seats up front on defenders,,
Im sorry, I have to retract 1 of those compariosons, the new defenders do actually have electric windows
AND exactly how do you get the mud out of your plush
fitted carpet and seats ... Pedro ???
ANY 4x4 with fitted carpet has to be a joke .....
On a real Landy it can be hosed out ...
