Yes, it will take their bid up to outbid your max autobid automatically, or take you to a winning bid if you bid more. With the vehicles two bids the same will go to the bidder who put the first bid in against the other.

Thanks DeeJay, I kinda figured that might happen, best I watch and wait until close to auction end

if you have a maximum amount you would pay use an auction sniper which will put your bid in at the last couple of seconds at the minium amount to win the auction

The main difference between eBay and grays is in a grays auction it first stop at a set time, so if there is a last min bid you get 15 min to bid then so does everyone else. This has had some auction items go 2 hrs past the official finish time, like a real auction. Also in certain multiple identical lot sales the multi bidder, bidding $89 On 5 identical items takes precedence over the earlier bidder who only wants One.

With Grays I thought it was 10, not 15, minutes from the most recent bid that it was prolonged.

When I looked last night they say ten minutes extension, either way each and every item has an auto bid enabled of ten dollars rise so me thinks it is a way of getting items up a bit or maybe to a reserve. will see how it goes.


It's a shame really, a company of 139 years ownership by the one family now in liquidation only a month or so after I was made redundant so lucky me I guess, there are some good items, some of which are only a few months old and were maintained by a bloody good fridgy so hopefully will pick up some good trade tools at a reasonable price.
