Hi PK

and firstly welcome

Some of us here will tell you that the best model Disco is a Defender  That should get them going.

But to start this ball rolling are you looking at new or used?

Welcome to AULRO.

Nothing wrong with a Disco.

97 seems to be one of the more popular ones about in here but there isnt a lot of differance's between most models.

Older you go the less things you get IE ABS. twin air bags etc.

I think it was the 98's that brought in the hill decent control unit (sorry if I am wrong) this is good for some but not for others.

Work out what you want to do with a 4x4 first,
Touring?
weekend track exploring?
Beach driving
Rock climbing
Or all of the above?

Once you have a rough idea what you want the vehical to do it is a bit easier to pick one.
You wont want to be taking a brand new 2004 Disco rock climbing and hopping(ok some will but not most)

Go from there and you will be fine.

Feel free to ask as many questions as you want, we are all here to help each other.

Also have a look at our gallery, might give you more ideas as well, many Disco's and Defenders as well as the series units.
