    Ebay TAKE TAKE TAKE GRRRRRR!!!

Lastest change to greedy ebay. As most of you know we trade heavily on ebay. Now the latest bend over from ebay is that from May they will charge their cut on the amount of postage cost and the item sold. Then bend me over again with paypal fees on the postage and item fees.
They say this is to encourage Free Postage to be offered by sellers. I think ebay has woken up that unscruplous sellers who sell items cheap and then charge high postage costs where they profiteer on the actual postage. Ebay is loosing as they only get their cut from the item sold final price.
So every legit seller must now be hit for more charges.

Oh, the shopping cart system on ebay is another thing ,I have had customers claiming they have purchased multiple items from us, there is nothing coming up on our end. We did some investigation and discovered that customers can shop on ebay, pick and item and add to shopping cart, then continue shopping adding other times to there shopping cart. At they hit pay button and the total . I had customers think they were buying all the items from us and are able to combine postage to save money, yet only to discover they have also purchased items from other vendors also.
So there is no postage combined savings as they are purchasing unknowingly from others also and check out completion just pays all vendors, and buyer loses out of the combined postage.

Another way Ebay looks after it's sellers, but taking the buyer to other vendors, Ebay doesn't care, they still get their high fees.
    rant over.

I hear you. I've only sold a few things on eBay, and I was a tad upset with the last sale where I ended up paying 15% or so in fees. Greed of the highest degree.

I have a lot for sale on greedway at the moment, but I think this is the last time I will sell on this site.

I will try quicksales or gumtree (the other ebay site) but unfortunately on both of these sites there are a lot of deadbeats who purchase and then don't pay.

I have just tried unsuccessfully to list some tyres and rims. First I typed in tyres and wheels and the only listing they offer is industrial wheels. Then I got directed from the sell quick step pages to a old style format that did not have pick up only as a option. Gave up after that and sent a wtf email to them. Typed in auto part and no category came up.

I have TD5 Radiators and listed them, in the calculation of Australia postage section, I put in correct weight, and dimensions and when listed it came up that postage could not be calculated. So I rang ebay, the girl said yes, there is a problem as what I did was correct , and couldn't see why it won't calculate. She sadi she would advise their technical team, still after a few weeks nothing, Yet I can go directly to Aus post web site and put in the info and I'll give me a calculation of postage. So according to the offical Aust Post web site my radiators come in as an allowable cubing, yet Ebay's link to aus post calc doesn't agree. It would be good if it worked as presently customers have to message me for a cost.

In the end, it is the buyer that pays for it all. I used to be on eBay a lot, but these days I use it for second hand things, but new - I always see if the seller has their own store. Usually when they do they sell it much cheaper. I also found Quicksales from a seller that after my first transaction with them send me an email saying "I sell everything cheaper on quicksales!".
