car yards and salemen..

Getting bloody sick of looking in car yards for a decent diesel disco.

most of the yard salemen say they hate landrovers as they are too hard to sell... not that they try to hard judging by what i have seen so far.

me, i am finding it hard to find any to look at much less buy...

i would have thought there would be a few older diesel discos to be had second hand... even the odd auto...

seems not...

Car yard salesmen

Dave most of those idiots (carsales personell) wouldn't know if you were up them with a steam train till you blew the whistle LONG and LOUD, my next door neighbour bought a 130 from Rover city it is a mickey mouse machine I've driven it to retrieve some bits from Carzee's place, I must admit it's a different machine to my County 110 (Isuzu which is 20 yo in 11/04) but it was a delight to drive very responsive, mate my advice is keep looking dont give up

Hi Dave
If you are willing to gamble,at least have a look at the auction scene and weigh up the pros and cons.
A couple of months ago I was with my bro and passed an auction,we had a quick look. There was a 98 Defender as we walked in they opened biding at $26000,it went for $18000.These were ex fleet vehicles and similar age falcoons and dunnydoores were going for 10 to 11 thou.
I realise you dont get to testdrive but it helps being a Landynut in checking them out in the lot.
I would only bother with the larger companies,Ive heard the smaller ones have some pretty dodgy unsailable in caryard vehicles.

Incisor,

I take it that the 95 3dr deal fell through. or

I bought mine in 97 from a used car "stealer"

There weren't many Tdi's around then either.

But he had plenty of in his words "very tidy V8 units for the missus to do the shopping in...I take it this is going to be your wifes car?"

the 3 door faded into the distance, just to many things not quite right with it, and he had someone else interested in it so i let it go.

the 59 shorty is nice but way to slow and noisy for long trips and i want to take a couple of weeks off and head up to longreach, the curry, kurumba and back in the next year or so.

a legion of daemons could not to get my missus to give up her daihatsu sirion! and i dont blame her, it is a great car for the money... way better than my accent.
