Time for a change

HAve reached the point

It is just past thinking about it and dreaming about it and just before doing it totally..

I am selling my Disco. 8O :? 8O

See the for sale thread for details.

Have decided for a change, and yes I know I have said I will be keeping the disco for ages but things have changed.

Moved up to the north of the state early this year.
Fuel is now on average 120c per litre each and every week.
As My Disco is my daily driver it isnt cheap to run.
Also up here once I leave town it is a long way to go before I find anything else in any direction.
Havnt had it in 4wd off road all this year, as the soil up here is rock hard unless it rains and when it does rain it is slush for 5 minutes.

So I am looking for a change, not sure yet what I will get.

Thinking like this but.

Buy a nice new car, will be the first new one I have ever had.

Then get myself a nice older RR or series that I can tinker with and play with when the time comes.
But not sure yet.

Its sad to sell any car....

Buy a rangie and make it a full on off roader...
Would be great...

Rangie - 35's, LRA Flares, 2' BL, 2'spring, Toy centres, Jac Mac Axles etc..

Would be bullet proof and you could just drive it!!

My next 4x4 will be big and bad no matter what it ends up being.

Want it all.

at least 38" rubber and then all the gear to go with it.

A sad day 8O

At $1.20 a litre I can hear the diesel drivers chime in and barely heard over the rattle is the resounding Tdi.

Do consider.

But you will use nearly half as much for the same distance

Are you in a hurry?

Always in a hurry

apart from the fuel use I love everything about my v8 and will be getting another one in the next 4x4.

Not after a touring unit, will just be for the dust bowls and beach around here.

Then slow down...

You need counselling my friend. 8)

Keep the Disco for the dust bowls and beaches and buy a push bike or a donkey for the commuting.

If "sell the Disco" is the answer what is the question?

Bring on wiser counsel......

If you consider the real cost of changing cars (depreciation, taxes, etc) it may be cheaper to buy a second car for a daily driver and to keep the Disco for 4WD - rather than buying another 4WD to do both jobs.
