    Geckos

    Hi All,

I've got an undercover built in BBQ set up. Bench top and dining furniture.

The gecko population is getting out of control, coating floor tiles, bench top and furniture with their little turds. You clean the place and by the next day there is crap everywhere.

Is there an easy way to control Gecko numbers, or is it whack time?

    Cheers,

    Kev.

A bit of odourless fisholine or lanolin sprayed/painted in areas you cannot see sorts them out, they hate anything sticky.

They say mothballs help as well.

Butcherbirds clean them up at our place

Do you have any outside lights that may be attracting insects for them? This has been an issue at some service stations we work at,the gecko population explodes and then they hide in the A/C units during the day, crawl onto the PCB's and destroy them.

Oh well people, you have been previously warned about all these foreign animals in our country, yet you choose not to heed the warnings , nor to do anything about it personally.

Hence our national beauty is becoming wild cats, wild horses, foxes, cane toads, rabbits, those geckos, in the water it's european carp, wild starfish, wild jellyfish, crown of thorns.

In the air it's starlings , sparrows, Indian minors, european wasps and killer bees.

On the ground its imported trees, shrubs and grasses competing and dominating the native plants which no native animals shelter or forage for food in.

I protested, I wrote letters to the editors, I joined care groups, I got called a feral, a tree hugger, a hippie, got told to get a proper job (which I had), but minorities dont work against the insulated majority.

Look around you everywhere, you can see the result.

Have you noticed Land Rover are now helping?

With the invisable bonnet,we should be able to hit those cane toads every time

They (Australian native Gecko's) are protected and killing them attracts a hefty fine and/or prison, Regards Frank.
