I think it is very worrying that we are sharing the road with people who have the same "don't care" attitude as that young woman has exhibited.

Part of the tests when sitting for your licence to drive should be a "Aptitude Test" to see if you are a fit and proper person to drive a motor vehicle.

That young woman would fail dismally and should not be allowed on the road again until she convinces the authorities that she is able to drive in a safe manner and is no threat to other road users.

I was offering my objective professional opinion, and not a subjective one. A "smack" in the head is a bit extreme and shows highly emotional thinking, which achieves nothing, except perhaps a criminal conviction for the person so doing.

Such thinking renders a person just as bad as the offender and is tantamount to the "Lynch mob" mentality that belongs in the past, with the same type of people who refer to gay folk as "poofters", retarded people as "spacks" and aboriginals as lazy and bludgers and "black" ********. It is redundant and offensive thinking. It is far worse for anyone in a youth leading or law enforcement role to have this point of view for the job they do.

You may be surprised at what my personal opinions are on this matter. I am not a yuppy but an experienced professional and the disorder is genuine and treatable if caught early. The parents are often not to blame. The person is often a victim of the culture in which they live.

Feel free to flame me if you wish, I find it interesting and will be taking notes on various points of view (from a psychological perspective). I now have a subject to write my thesis on
Isn't "The culture in which they live" a direct responcibility of the parents, "the house in which they live" and thier upbringing.

No, not psychologically, the parents are usually the last to know there is a problem. The culture and environment also takes into account peer groups, school, relatives, etc.

Unless, of course, two sociopaths cohabited and then gave birth to and raised a "little" sociopath.

Forget the aptitude test, a Psych test would be more appropriate, but could still be gotten around where a sociopath is concerned---they can be very convincing!

Yes, a Pysch test would be better. That young woman has certainly demonstrated an "abnormal" behavioural pattern. She should be thoroughly tested before getting her licence back and if she stuffs up again, permanent loss of licence as she has demonstrated she is not a fit and proper person to hold a drivers licence.
I get your point about a sociopath telling the examiner what they want to hear, this has been demonstrated time and time again, by rapists and murderers etc. Hence, if she stuffs up again under similiar circumstances.....no more licence, no excuses.

The frightening thing is, I think you really believe that. Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
