    Chinese F1 GP

Awesome win for Hamilton. More team orders at Red Bull put Sebastian behind Ricciardo. Ricciardo in fourth.
Plenty of marbles too. New Pirellis getting a clear workout.

Yep the straight was pretty ****ty. This race also showed how far ahead the merc engine is Ferrari and Renault have some work to do with very limited testing time available it won't be easy. And well done to Hamilton not being smart but with a car that much better than the rest one of us could have won it.

I know we covered it in a earlier thread but these cars make a stupid noise bring back the sreaming V8s,V10s,V12s and while i am still whining i still find this whole economy focus absolute **** outright speed is what it's about. If economy is important why not use a diesel V8 Audi at Le mans have built some stunning fast and polar bear friendly engines. The cars now are a full second slower than last years mixed with a pathetic exhaust note it seems we have gone backwards.

Nearly finished whining i miss the old days when you had a good spread of constructors Ford,Honda,Toyota,BMW, not much choice now, but i will keep watching it.

perhaps with the growing prevalence of hybrids we'll see an electric F1... then they can add a hi-fi system for the exhaust and you can have the noise from whatever virtual engine configuration you choose MB seem to be taking it seriously with the hybrid pack in the new SL sports model... probably not a matter of If but rather When...
MY99 RR P38 HSE 4.6 (Thor) gone (to Tasmania)
    2020 Subaru Impreza S ('SWMBO's Express' )
    2023 Ineos Grenadier Trialmaster (diesel)

Problem is, it would be a company like BOSE that did the sound system and they would still sound like crap

So we can look forward to a loud crap noise It's not so much the volume that's the problem it's the engine.

But they had turbos in the 80-90's, I was too young but maybe if they get back to near that people might be happier. Diesels are Le Mans territory, not F1. either way Ricardo is doing well, I am happy.

It went turbos in the 80s then back to non turbos in the 90s. But the turbos in the 80s were small capacity V8s thats where the awesome sound came from. The V10s from the late 90s and early 2000s just sounded incredible.

I know what you mean about diesel V8s belonging in Le Mans but they do sound a lot better than the crap they are using today and like i said the results Audi have got are impressive.
