Intolerance..... not a bad subject for this thread to steer off too considering the original post and comment, so how do we all think intolerance manifests itself to become a subject so widely spoken about throughout the internet?

My thoughts? Perhaps as we internet users can remain anonymous and in the main without fear of retribution (perception) pick up on misleading information propergated by various sources, you know random emails reporting an incident no-one actually knew about, mainstream media and there biased reporting practices, some friend of my mates brother knew a guy who..., I think you get the picture.

I have been on the receiving end of intolerance for a number of years for a choice I won't go into here but safe to say if you were gay you would be more excepted in society, I know just don't bother talking about it as I have found the main cause of intolerance is the lack of knowledge on the subject, it seems that a lot of people in society pick up on a fragment of information and life then becomes black and white with no middle ground for tolerance, said people then shout it out through various means and soon the whole issue ends up a slanging match with no constructive debate.

Acceptance can only happen when all the facts and information are made available and we (as in society) begin to look deeper to understand. We still have a right to enjoy our freedom and our way of life without change for the worse though so I guess a fine line depending on what part of the fence we sit on, Lets take Halal Certification on some meat products for example, does it really make any difference to the mainstream population if it is Halal or not, for me/ not one iota of difference, but we see so many people complaining or rather using it as a soapbox for other intolerant comments that it becomes lost........ anyway enough rambling from Kev, just some thoughts.

I'm still not getting the bit about gun owners and hunters getting hassled. Must be from where you're from, because I don't hear any of that down here. I also know that all the people I know that shoot and hunt, none of them would give a **** what others said to them about their chosen sport . Maybe they're just a bit soft up there...

Just sipping on a port I won last weekend for shooting.... . That was only poor defenceless targets mind you....

You mean wicked person you ........................

I'm going to lodge a formal complaint with the fun police on behalf of those poor defenceless targets. Somebody should take a stand on their behalf.
    Cheers .........

Could not agree more. Never heard of such intolerance to poor defenceless targets. Surely someone has done a study into their inhuman treatment, or at very least a risk assesment on their behalf. A committee to investigate "soft bullets" perhaps
