    ANZAC Day 2014

What is everyone getting up to for Friday. I am hoping to get to the dawn service in Sydney then over to some two-up for the arvo of course.

One of my favorite days of the year, a great opportunity to show how much we really respect the sacrifices that were made for our country and others.

Any one lucky enough to get a trip over to Gallipoli sorted via the ballot?

And has anyone applied for the Centenary (2015) ballot to get a public spot?

I hope to get up in the morning! Like I do every morning, although, alas, I don't think this will always be the case.

Probably Dawn Service in Lithgow and then the parade later in the morning with AAVA.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I will wear the originals of my paternal grandfather's WWI medals and replicas of my maternal grandfather's WWII medals. (On the right and not miniatures of course)

Dawn service for me at the local RSL memorial, my son is part of the local cadet group who will be the honour guard and catafalque party for the ceremony.

And then on to a second service at 10am.

We had the local memorial last Sunday. The 101 was in the parade. I was to pick up any stragglers. I wasn't needed. They all marched with much gusto. I hope to have the IIa ready for next years march.

We usually join a group from our school in the local 10am march and ceremony.
Our ceremony is a bit different because there is a large group of Maori blokes who served for NZ who put in a big effort every year. Good stuff!

I think Lithgow RSL Sub-Branch must have a third ceremony on ANZAC Day, because they have invited us to participate inside the club after the parade.

Not had a briefing on that one yet though!
