I had a very similar problem a few years back. Although the situation was a bit different, it doesn't hurt to talk to the manager. My Disco 1 was lifted and I knew it wouldn't get into most car parks. I was visiting my GF relatives at a very well known hotel here in the City. I left the Disco with the parking attendant and specifically told them not to park it in the under ground car park because of the height.
Any way after about an hour I came back to the Disco and picked up the keys. I thought I would check the top of the Disco just in case. And what do you know? There was a small dent in the roof and a nice yellow scrape from the height marker. They didn't even tell me what had happened. When I pointed it out to them, they blamed the new guy who had just started!
To cut a long story short, they knew it was there fault and all I had to do was get 2 quotes to have it fixed. Found the most expensive places and passed the quote to hotel manager.($1200) Within 2 days the money was in my account. When sold it still had the yellow scrape mark on the roof:wasntme::D But with the lift you couldn't even notice the dent or yellow paint. So good luck with it!
Cheers
Chris
