Exhaust Jacks

Like Inc said.

I saw a bunch of geniuses on the beach trying extricate a stuck Pajero with a bull bag - anyhow they got it rather wrong and nearly tipped it on its side.

They were furiously trying to pull the bag out from under, which I thought was a bit silly - given there was 4wd on top of it - but they didn't think to turn off the motor. The bag was well attached to the exhaust pipe and the whole lot teetered for a while - until one of them worked out the problem.

Bag 1 Geniuses 0

As said before - practice!

Top gadget and better in sand than a hi lift. Even tho I've had a Hi lift (Jackall) for thirty years, I still don't trust it....

After an episode last Saturday on Stockton Beach with my high lift, I'll take my bag along with me next time.
The exhaust connection isn't the best so I'll sort that out first.

so there's nothing built in them to regulate how quickly the fill etc. i take it :(

Hmmm in that case any ideas on a valve attached to the pipe to let some out :D

I know one about them, they don't work in mud they just pop out from under once they get some air in them:eek:

I don't have one (bullbag) so I can't comment but....
having seen it in action, the rate of lift caught these blokes by surprise!
There must be a blow off valve on them, apart from the exhaust connection?

What happened with the Hilift Scouse? They're a great device but a bit of a worry.....

The RR just moved sideways & fell off the jack while changing the N/S/R wheel. I knew it would be unstable & worked quickly but no quick enough. I just about had the wheel on the studs when she started to go.
I now have a nicely flared rear guard :) . Just have to get the rest to match now.

In hindsight, I should have jacked it up under the sill rather than the rear bumper. That would have left more weight on the opposite wheel & stopped it sliding sideways.

Scouse: Got it. I bogged the dear old Fairlane on the Oodnadatta track many years ago; I put the jackall (sideways) under the towbar tongue, lifted it up quite a bit and pushed it sideways, piece of cake. Worked perfectly and thats what worries me about the hilift, it's wobbly!

I've left the others from previous trips there so you don't notice the flare too much :p .
