Now a little bit of name changing to cover a murky past or even to enhance a hoped for future was not unthinkable in those early days of Australia, so I guess we will have to say, Breaker Morant.
One of the unfortunate side effects of today's way of life is that we tend to take a movie maker's romantic attempt to make a movie more socially palatable for an audience, as being historically correct, rather than follow actual factual evidence, and in so doing sway future generation's so called opinions of heroes and/or anti-heroes.
Many of our modern day sporting "celebrities" are prime examples of this, along with the 'Breaker', 'Ned Kelly' and more recently 'Chopper Reid'.
Digger, if I were you I would think about an occupation change, as everyone seems to know who Ben Hall was, or who Ned Kelly was, or even Breaker Morant, but no-one remembers the coppers who collared them, or if they do, they mention their names in an entirely different tone of reverence.
