    That's how i made mine, with silicone to glue them together, and used a safety vest (cut to shape) from bunnings, couple of U bolts, cheap as. Leave it off until you hit the desert.

    God, I wish I was heading for the desert right now.

    Was the 25mm conduit the full length of the 20mm or did the 20mm stick out from a section of 25mm

    I'd run them both the full length unless you want that tapered look... Haha

    I've never actually made a sand flag out of it, but I work with the stuff every day and I'd say it'd be the cheapest DIY way to do it! And work well.

    So 2.5m above a defender roofrack should be OK then

    Mines been cable tied to the roof rack since our last trip in 2012
