Can it be done ? Defender Handbrake.

Does anyone know whether the Defender handbrake (just the handle part, not the brake itself) can be modified without any roadworthy issues arising ?

I was thinking it would be a good idea to get a new one fanricated up, with a kink in it (2 right angles) so that the handle was closer to the trans tunnel - allowing more left leg room.

    Whaddayareckon ?!
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

    Vlad,

I don't know about QLD, but in Vic it wouldn't effect your roadworthy. They stopped calling them emergency brakes in the seventies when they came up with split braking systems.

Seen a few builds with Disco handbrake mechanisms mounted to an adapted greabox tunnel - so more central.

Seriously,it shouldnt be that hard to make up a custom handle using the exsisting release mechanism.
