    Sometimes I cannot understand advertising.

If you have seen the banner ads on here for Woolworths you will see what appears to be a green liquid container like dishwashing liquid or something labelled with Woolworths Insurance.

Over to the right is a small bunch of bananas.

I looked at it for while to see if it did anything more but no.

The ad ******* missed me on this one but I guess someone gets the message.

I'm sorry boy, but you've been had anyway. The very fact that you remember the product name means that the ad has been successful.
Some ads are amusing and entertaining, but if you don't remember the product name, then as an ad it is a lost cause.
Other ads may be obnoxious, but if they are memorable then they have worked.
Advertising isn't about being sensible, it's about getting into your head.

Yep, their ad has been a success with you - not only did you remember the product and name, but you are going out of your way to plug them. Game, set and match to the advertiser.

Lots of adverts seem like crap and a lot are, but look at the stupid Jeep ones....."You bought a JEEP?". Then look at how many Jeeps are on the road these days.
    Some things working.
