    Townsville 500 V8 Supercar Race.

What a awesome day of racing.Race one today had a bit of crazy meets stupid mixed in.On a personal high note i got to meet some people i hold in high regard,Gary Rogers,John Bowe,Steve Johnson,

My stalking of the pit area also resulted in shaking hands with Garth Tander,Russell Ingall,Scott Mcaghlin,Nick Percat. And the chance to say hello to the very lovely Riana Crean.

The jesus V8 ute team were the most friendly bunch of blokes i have met really keen to answer all my dumb quiestions. After Lowndes hit the wall i went to the red bull garage and i must admit i was blown away by the team work in putting the car back together in such a short time, same goes for BJR in fixing Fabian's car.

The sound of the Volvo is so different the TV really doesn't do it justice. The SLS merc in the GT race sounded like thunder compared to the high pitch wail of the Lamborghini and Ferrari. Many will disagree with me but the Porsche's sound like ****.

Hey Keithy, I think we are blessed up here, the track is awesome the whole way the event is put together is spot on.And the North Queensland winter is mild to say the least.

My only complaint is the price!!! I have two young girls so this year i thought i would put us in the grandstand,it would have cost $400!!!! **** that

How they think they can charge $130 for a 5 year old child is just bull****. As it was $75 to get in plus $30 for a pit pass.

    HI,
I was there on Saturday. The volvo's did very well in my opinion. Holden had a few 1,2 's and 1,2,3 's on the day. It was good to see a couple of extra makes and engine types having a go. I reckon it turns it into more of a touring car race. The shear noise of the cars going past in a group was amazing. Having the Bandag Bullet do a couple of spins in front of us was very impressive. Would have been good to catch you Mick.

    Cheers,
    Brian.

What a bugger not to catch you there Brian.I was on the grass near where the bandag bullet and that crazy ute with the engine in the back was parked just up from the castrol bridge.

Good racing today. Congrats to 888 & Jamie for a well deserved win. Also for HRT for getting their act together which will be absolutely necessary if they are to challenge Red Bull.
