I'm currently the foster dad to this pair of bundles of energy.

I had to take Sooty (guess which one is Sooty) to the vet yesterday, as he was hobbling on three legs. Seems he's done his left ACL. The cure apparently is rest and anti-inflamitories. The medication I can struggle with, the rest bit is impossible, short of confining him, cruelly to a cage.
I'm a bit surprised the vet didn't strap, or otherwise immobilise the knee. Is there any reason for not doing so?
I shouldn't laugh, but there is a degree of amusement watching a right legged dod, who cannot put any weight on his left leg, trying to wee. [bigrolf]

Just what this thread needs a cat and a bird, my cat is getting old and tired, and the local crow knows it.

Dear Friends,
In my profile pic, you would have noticed two Golden Retrievers; Sienna and her daughter Florence. We said farewell to Sienna, aged 15, yesterday. Such a sad day, that all of us as dog lovers will face eventually.
Our veterinarian was superb; caring and compassionate.
Florence has been looking for her Mum, as they have never had a day apart. I’m giving her lots of attention.
The photo above was taken at Palm Beach last Saturday. She had a Don Bradman average for milking a pat from ‘passers-by’. Four young German backpackers, missing their dogs were all over her. Sienna knew the “Golden Retriever Job Description” very well.
There is natural sympathy here in Sydney today. Cold and raining.
Lots of love to all AULRO Dog Lovers.
Thank you Sienna for 15 wonderful years of love and devotion.
Not goodbye, but au revoir sweet girl.

So sorry to hear that, when you have a pet for so long and they are part of the family. Sending a big hug to Florence from me Heather
Nice to be baby sitting my mates whippet for the last three weeks. It has made us realise how much we miss having a four legged friend around. She goes home today and we will miss her.

Dear Heather,
thank you. Yes. You certainly do become very attached to them. I’ve been quite flat since.
We’ve gone to our daughter’s farm for the NSW Long Weekend and Florence is having a lovely time playing with her dogs. That has cheered me up.
best wishes, jeff
