With funerals reduced to a Powerpoint presentaion, Im not surprsed

They may have been posting condolence messages on facebook?

Worse - phones ringing during the service, as happened 3 times at a funeral I attended recently

I hope they had clean t-shirts and jeans on. I was disappointed with a few at a recent funeral who were wearing street gear obviously in need of a wash. Some sort of effort is appreciated by the close relatives. Watching a show like Downton Abbey really brings home how much society was strangled by etiquette in the past. I don't mourn the loss of a lot of it, but rudeness is rudeness. Polite attention to other peoples feelings is a quality that I miss these days.

I was raised to wear a suit and tie at funerals. Nowadays one sees people at funerals dressed for a day at the beach in shorts and thongs. Disrespectful in the extreme.

When attending funerals where I have an inheritance , I always park the ute and U-Haul out of sight and switch my phone onto vibrate. I also have a very tidy pair of Black thongs that I only wear to funerals. I don't worry about being respectful to the dead as the dead know nothing , but I try to be considerate of the family and friends.

I hope you wear shorts over those thongs until you get out of the ute.

Yep Plain Dumb and Rude. I would have told them all .
Most funerals ive been to you are asked to turn your ph off before any speech has started
You know life is short and your dead a long time ! Maybe they were aware they were about to fall of the planet and getting their last tweet ,Txt or FB post in before they were gone

Some people with mobile phones are brain dead the only way they can communicate is via texting and the like. Evolution, this is a human subspecies that has lost the ability to verbally comunicate. They have lost the brain power to logically think for themselves, they have insecurity problems and have a need to keep in constant contact with their like minded friends.

This reminds me of my 4th class teacher going into another one of her regular "Ïdiot Box" tirades. I don't think she liked the TV.
