No worries redback, i might not be able to take part in any trips untill the middle of the year, i have used up all my 4wding weekends for the next few months with training days with the LROC. But there is no reason why we cant organise something later in the year aswell. I also thing there might be another weekend here on the last weekend of Jan, will have to wait till disco95 gets back and ask him what is going on with the side steps he was planning to make up. He was going to come over for the weekend and help put them on on saturday arvo and the go out 4wding on sunday. Everyone else would be welcome. I will post a new thread when i know more. Matt

Thanks for the pics redback, it was a pleasure meeting you and your family.
Too bad it was only a short track. Maybe next time we can have a look at the twelve mile, I looked at it on the maps and it comes out at Braidwood road.
You're right lrhybrid, I need some real tyres.
You think that little sticky bit was good, a couple of days later we were in Nowra shopping. On the way home I pulled into an old sawmill to have a quick look, drove down onto a concrete apron and turned around to do a u turn and take the track that looped back to the road. A whole 5 minute detour to see what was there.
I came off the apron and almost imediately sunk to the axles in mud.
SWMBO was impressed I can tell you. Took me an hour of jacking and filling under the wheels to get out of it.
Photos will follow around the end of the week to show the predicament I got myself into without even going 4WDing

Nice work disco, that would have to be a record for the least distance travelled of bitumen to get bogged. Good work. Matt

Not to mention how it really helps to get SWMBO into 4WDing.

They tend to forget the amount of times that you don't get stuck somewhere.
Not to mention the enjoyment they get out of beinb able to drive down the beach to their favourite spot, or put the jetski in th water anywhere you like.

We are taking part in the LROC's training weekends in the first few months of this year, and in a hope to settle stacey a little she will be doing the course aswell. Hopefully then she will get to know the vehicles limits and know when to be scared and not to worrry at all. Matt
