She totally missed the essence of the question which was why use bombs to try and fix and ideological issue? By bombing radical Islamists or attacking them with ground troops, you create more radicals as those on the border of being radical are provoked. It's a viscous circle that the USA and now Australia as the USA's lap dog are involved. Going to war isn't going to fix the answer. But you know what? I don't know what is. America has created the issue of radical Muslims and now it has escalated to the point where it has the potential to impact all of the people of the world. We are in dangerous times IMHO.

By destroying the structures of government in Iraq under Saddam and allowing the Shias under Maliki to persecute the Sunnis (who ruled under Saddam) we caused a number of Sunnis to go off to fight in Syria and become radicalized and now they're back seeking revenge. By going to war again we make it more likely they will strike back at us. Actions have consequences.

Let me clarify. In my experience radicals are created by western forces and military intervention. The biggest intervener being the ol' USA.

Actually she answered it, how do you respond to a person who's central belief is that you are lower, less human, have no rights to your land and deserve to be killed?
How do you negotiate with a group who hate and advocate the killing of any other religion or person who does anything they find offensive, such as calling a kindy class teddy hear Mohamed?
Go and view some of her other clips, she talks of being given 48 hrs notice by Israel of bombing in their area after Hamas fired rockets from in front of their homes. Now if you got a letter saying ,Incoming warhead in 2 days, would you stay? Unless you where forced to?
How happy would you be if your 6-8 year olds where taken on an attack so if the Israelis fire back there can be news clips of "innocent children killed/ injured by uncaring Jews"?
It comes down to if you don't fight back you lose and if you do you look bad.

No, she got it bang on. The majority moderates are not bringing the minority radicals into line. The inaction of moderates is what is a major part of the problem. Action from the majority moderates will be the solution.

i.e. "You sort it or we will."

The US should have followed through on their plan to pay the Iraqi Federation Guard and they should have also continued to use them as the Iraq national army. They easily could have placed Coalition liaison/trainers in each unit and used the advice of those troops to weed out the residual Saddam'ists.

As it was US Administrator Paul Bremer, came in and sacked the military, instantly creating thousands of disenfranchised unemployed men with guns and training.
