Sydney "Raids"?

Religion is just a camouflage for the politics that are in play. Im not religious but have read the bible and the quran and the quran is alot less sadistic than the bible. The thugs that hide under the name Isis,isil,aqiada are political Mafias. Hamas were created by isreal fact, Taliban were created by the USA fact, most of the world's Muslims live without violence. Every war the west has dictated is because of money. How is Libya going after the USA decided to fund the ousting of Gaddafi?. How has funding and aiding the rebels in Syria ended up?. How has overthrowing Saddam Hussein done good for Iraq? . If you can't see that the west is causing more than its helping you should turn of sky news and abc and go take a history lesson.

I would like to see the USA do nothing outside their own borders for the next 20 years.


Leave all the heavy lifting in the world to the tax payers of Russia, China and the Middle East countries who appear to be sitting on their hands right now.


The world will apparently be a much better place. It is amazing how people are so ready to have a dig at some one but who do they turn to when they need help.

So we had the largest anti-terrorist raid yesterday - planning executions in Martin Place. Something like 15 people detained/arrested.

Yet today, nine have been released without charge, two women have been issues summons for minor (unknown offences) and one person has been charged with firearm possession offences.

So this operation has resulted in 2 minor and one major charge.

While I have no problem in the constabulary stirring this lot up, the hype does not seem to match the charges laid.

Are 3 being held without charges or were 12 detained/arrested?


Each interview with authorities I saw said it was an ongoing investigation and more arrest were expecteded. They also were at pains to explain that they had to balance the collection of evidence with public safety.


I guess the civil libertarians would have preferred that they had waited until they had hacked of an innocent person's head to ensure that the rights of the head hacker were not affected.


An article I read recently revealed that had it not been for the access to meta data, the Holdsworthy Barrack bomb plotter most probably would not have been found until it was too late. He, apparently was not on any watch list and it was only through communication with someone who was being watched that they were able to back track him and shut him down.

I don't understand your point.

Your argument could be the same for the police and their raids on bikie gangs (in Vic). They were the largest raids in history as well with small number of arrests. Was more for the disturbance than anything including myself, my drive to work is straight past hells angels in alphington (VIC).

I'd hate to be a cop. Damned if you do and (probably) damned if you don't.

Yep, the points you have made basically show that our legal/justice system is working the way we would have it.

The burden of proof is upon us to make any charges stick!

Problem is the radicals of this world do not play by the same rules thou they are highly adept at using & manipulating these very rules of ours against us.

As a fair and just nation we will continue to offer those less able a chance of a better life in our country, we will help house,feed & educate these people in the hope of assisting them towards a better life & future,as we should!

History has shown that our country can & will benefit from this initial generosity.

Unfortunately it is this very generosity & our legal/justice system that some radicals who have slipped through will continue to use against us & other country's that share our ethos.

We play by a very different set of rules to these people & unless we want to start using there game plan against them we will always be on the defence side.

Perhaps it has always been this way, perhaps it always will be.

Human nature???
