A sad weekend for formula one as ex formula one driver Andrea De Cesaris was killed in a motorcycle accident :(

Looking at the video of Bianchi's crash and the speed of the car I just wonder how he survived. The impact moved the crane

Hadn't seen that footage.
That's a shocking crash!
Incredible force.
Worst Point is The flag Marshall is still waving the green flag even afterwards until someone climbs the ladder and tells him to wave yellow
Should have been yellow for the time the first car went off
From the looks of it slowed down, the wheel then side pod lift the tractor a little initially when they hit. This may have helped by avoiding a full impact to the head and also the side impact structure for the head. Very lucky (still very unfortunate to happen) he did not go under otherwise it may have been worse.
Very surprised by the green flag, not much further along is another post which would have been more appropriate to wave as it is away from the crash zone.
