    Your Midlife Crisis Has Arrived

The title is the text received from my son last week, with the attached picture, while I was cruising the Mekong Delta.

Life was getting a bit too tame with the GTV6 and Charlie behaving, so I thought I would indulge in a nice V12 Jaguar. However it took over 12 months to find one I was happy with.....

The car a 1994 XJ12, passed rego inspection first time this morning. Aside of a dirty underbody, my Land Rover mechanic who is also a Jaguar specialist could not fault the vehicle. So fingers crossed.

Looks like I’m seriously going to have to update my signature line. More pics to follow once she has had a good clean.

    Cheers

    Steve

I do love that model Jag. Only one to have 'square', or rectangular headlights.
    Beautiful.

I looked under the bonnet of one of those V12s, and straight away shut it again

I can't see how anyone except a contortionist can work on them.

    Lovely motor though.

Unless it has already been done make sure the first thing you do is change all the fuel hoses on top of the engine.
My mate the Jaguar mechanic has seen many catch fire.

Yes I did seriously look at XJS but decided that I wanted 4 doors. The GTV6 keeps my 2 door coupe urges in check

Thankfully all is good in this respect Philip. My mechanic gave it a through going over prior to putting it over the pits and much to my surprise he found nothing requiring attention besides an under body clean. Even the Marelli distributor another known weak point is in good shape. By 1994 and the 6 litre upgrade, Ford had done a lot of work sorting out the known weak points.

Yes its tight but in some respects but no worse than parts of the D2 TD5 engine bay or the GTV6.

It is a lovely motor and pure eye candy to me. The following are a couple of shots I took last month when I first looked at the car..

    Cheers
