Does that mean some do then ?

If in a 100+ zone everything that is *capable* of doing a 100 does so, as opposed to sitting on 85kmh to save $1.60 in fuel an hour... Then nothing big should ever catch up (allowing for that slight 1-4kmh variation in truck limiters).
This also assumes they sit on actual SOG at 100 and not a speedo 100kmh!
A truck doing 98 is far less likely to be ****ed off than one stuck doing 90, only to not be able to pass because the Van towing Dorry won't lift off and let him pass quickly.
Once the grey nomad in front gets to an overtaking lane, they'll speed up to the speed limit or above. Naturally, once the overtaking lane ends, they drop back down to below the speed limit.
I was watching a Kiwi TV programme last week (Road Madness with the late Ewen Gilmour) when this phenomenon was discussed. The comments were that when the overtaking lane appears, the slow driver speeds up unconsciously because he doesn't feel restricted and is less frightened of a head-on crash. Then they slow down at the end of the overtaking lane because they are frightened.
See it all the time here and have some friends with footage off of cameras demonstrating same behaviour.
That's all very interesting but I think you should read my post again , I did not mention a heap of scenarios that might **** off truckies , its just a sad fact that some dickheads are allowed to drive trucks . In any case a good truckie who knows his **** will never put somebody in an unsafe situation and there are good truckies on the road .
Agree with that, plenty of good truck drivers and very few Cowboys...
Not a problem on a GSX1400 ;) :burnrubber:
I drive fast enough to not hold people up. If I am, I let them pass. Normally though I hold my speed steady at somewhere between 100-110 (on the speedo) and if people aren't prepared to go fast enough to pass me and then have the hide to get annoyed at me well then that's their problem.
Whenever I call up a truckie on Channel 40 and ask if I can get by or when I am holding them up and tell them I can let them by, they are more than helpful.
I recently installed a UHF in my daughters vehicle for a trip she did to Central Australia and The Flinders and she said the truckies were good and helpful when she spoke to them.
There are dickheads in every profession but the vast majority of truckies are OK on the open road.
