Or the others that sit at 5 to 15k's under the speed limit in a single lane carriageway,100k zone. Then you come to a two lane section and they speed up to just over the speed limit and no one can get past
Then back to single lane and you guessed it,back to 5 to 15k under the speed limit again.

I rarely break it these days,, part of the reason to buying the Defender.

Traveling up a one road last night I was just poking along in first and second due to the traffic jam. I noticed all the cars in front,, on of on of the brakes. What a waste of fuel and money.

Still, in some cases, it takes a while to mature

There was an interesting article on road rage I read recently where the writer pointed out that motorists have no automatic right to unimpeded travel. So if someone is going slower than you that's just tough. It's a speed limit, not a target.

Sure, there are laws against dangerous driving which can apply if a vehicle is going too slowly on a highway for instance where they pose a hazard to other traffic. But rule one - the vehicle in front always has right of way.

Still, it doesn't make it any less annoying.

Then the car behind is technically in front (or ahead) if you consider the direction of travel.

Impeding the flow of traffic is a very real offence.

I was charged with it many years ago.

Doing 140km/h on the South Eastern Freeway from Hahndorf back to Adelaide.

Did you dispute it and get a speeding fine instead ?

Around Adelaide it's a strange mix of people who can't quite do the speed limit and sit 10km/h under it and those that sit 2 inches off your back bumper and seemingly have no clue about anything much at all.

The slow-pokes are generally a little older and the tailgaters are mostly females. Not ageist or sexist just factual

It's the same on the highway. There is the odd speedster that flies past over the limit but it's generally a mix of tailgaters and slow-pokes.

Needless to say I think we are blessed with having the worst drivers in Australia which would be awesome if it was a competition and there was a cool prize. But it's not and there isn't so it's not really that good at all.

Yeah. I reckon your observations are spot on.
The other thing to be wary about SA drivers is they come to a stop or give way sign, look at the traffic coming from their left or right, and pull out in front of it.
I never take intersections for granted in SA.
Oh, and double whit lines mean you had better pass now as you might not get a chance to later on. Especially on that Mt Compass Road.
