    Thanks Gav.

Bob, your posts have been un-approved for the reasons Homestar raised.

OOPs, how did that happen? I clicked on the CA link, and gained access, which I must admit, surprised me. Sorry about that, chief.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I was once told that it was sacrilege to mix anything with Glenfiddich. So I bought a bottle of the stuff to see if it was something I could get to like.

About the only way that I could palate the stuff was mixed with methylated spirits (or kero, or mineral turps) with a bit of nugget thrown in for colour ................
During the Korean War my uncle mixed after shave lotion with boot polish. He said the taste wasn’t marvellous but at least it produced a nice warming feeling to help counter the cold.

Back in the 50's-60's I can remember shearers filtering metho through a half loaf of bread out at remote sheds on dry stations. A bit of boot polish to make it look like whisky. I have no idea what good they thought the bread filter would do. Another back country drink was bush champagne. Metho with a spoonful of Sal Vital. Shearer's cooks and station cooks were often notorious for hopping into the lemon essence which is mostly pure alcohol.

Big difference between methanol and ethanol.
