Sounds like the usual scenario - many tourists in an over loaded and top heavy troopie.

I have a friend with a troopie and I did ask him why he had no roof rack - his response was that it was already top heavy, let alone with a roof rack full of gear.

Very sad but I hope there's no "knee jerk" reaction by the "shiny arses"

Speed. Without it most incidents could be controlled.

There was no roof-rack on the vehicle.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

As I indicated - SOUNDS like the usual scenario .... so wasn't sure whether it was a typical back backer vehicle.

But yes you are right no roof rack and was not a Troopie - was an early 90s 80 series Landcruiser in some sort of tag-a-long group so most likely a private vehicle rather than a rental.

Lets not get to holier than though about about how unstable Toyota's are, its not only just Troppies and or Cruisers that can roll over when 4 wheel driving, a D3 with a roof top tent (at low speed) nearly toppled over at the D3/D4/RRS weekend while going downhill, it looked pretty scary on the video I saw that was taken from behind.
Barry scared the crap out of himself and Kerry in his D4 when he nearly tipped it on its side and I nearly tipped the D3 on its side on Sunday going across a ditch up a steepish hill. Which if it had happened then it would have been driver error, mine, but I was lucky and got away with it.

All I can say is I feel sorry for the poor buggers in the vehicle that was rolled.
    Cheers,
    Terry

Landcruisers are 8 seaters. I suspect they were part of an organised group.
