You are joking right !
"Safety Cameras are used in QLD"
There are 2 fixed cameras that I know of,one is on the M1 at Coomera north bound mounted overhead on an overpass, all 3 lanes, the other is a single fixed pole mounted unit northbound on the M1(Bruce Highway)at Burpengary adjacent to the Burpengary Truck Weighbridge.
The others are mobiles mounted either in iload's (usually black) or Mitsubishi Lancers or unmarked police cars/utes.
Actually, surprisingly, it is one of the election promises that this NSW Government has held up to. All the cameras in NSW have been audited to see if their presence has increased safety at the site. Where there is no dividend in reduced road crashes in the section, i.e. it was only revenue, the cameras are being removed.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
In QLD with the mobile flash for cash they have to have a sign, problem is the turn it to face the road like = so it can't be seen or read unless you are directly passing the sign.
Thanks to the UHF I'm usually aware of them if there is a bit of traffic around.

They have been removing a few cameras along the new england highway up this way. Murrurundi has been removed, same as a camera near Gaspard.
The downhill shocker on Newcastle rd Jesmond (Newcastle) has also been removed.
Up this way at least, they have all gone either mobile speed cameras in the backs of Holden colorados, or fixed point to point safety cameras, which are worse in my opinion.
One day I might just park up the landie beside / behind it to block it's shot ;-)

Yeah! forgot about the 90kph one at Nudgee southboundand I go through that one at least 3 times a month
more worried about the black iload that parks along the Bruce H'way
And the sign --- they lean that against the front bumper so you can see it in your rear view mirror.
Spot on Erich. I actually recently read somewhere some where that they were removing some around the east coast, don't remember where but some where around Merimbula.
Their reasons were that they were unproductive. They said something along the lines of due to no one speeding there is no longer a need for them.
Translated this means; They are making no money and due to maintenance they are running at a loss.
Dave.
I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
