True, i can play dumb then. Matt
OK my thoughts on Wrangler MT/R
i went out last weekend as a passenger in a Rangie with a Chev V8 in it.
Great Rig. Fitten with BRAND NEW MT/R's
OK on this interesting trip we aired down to about 22psi and it was smooth and it climbed alot of crap others would not. Mind you they were yoyo and hissan
So i liked them, good tyre and a good price.
Good on rock and mud was great...
Was talking to a guy in the club i am in, he reckons wranglers are crap, reckons they heat up and blow out on sand, and dunlop tyres are renound for the tread separating from the rest of the tyre, like a retread, Also reckons they are prone to punctures.Quote:

This is strange because i have always heard good things about them and planned them as my next tyres. The sidewalls are 3 ply like BFG's, so they should be as tough. Has anyone heard any of these rumours? Matt
thats true!!
but for all tyres...you gotta drive SLOWER with less air in them.
are you sure your mate told you the full story?
like was he doing 80-100kph on hard sand?
i dont think they would pop at 20psi doing 30-40kph on soft sand.
if you can get up to that speed on soft sand.
A friend has Wrangler MT/R's on his Rangie. They are, he says, very noisy on the road. Something to do, perhaps, with the aggressive tread blocks and the way the interact with the road while rotating.
In his opinion there are better, cheaper tyres out there.
He's now looking to got a set of road tyres for daily use and put the MT/R's on for 4wd trips.
onya Zook,,,
the bigger the knobs,, the slower you drive on road,,,
Mt-R's are fantastic tyres,, but unsuitable for general use,,
