Thread: 16 year old Tasmanian the fastest man in Australia

I know the boy who came second - Rohan Browning. Hale only caught him right at the end and by a few hundreds of a second. These two kids could well push each other to some high achievements in the coming years.

Its impressive and when interviewed they all seem quite grounded

but

it is important to keep in mind this is not an official record as its wind assisted. The SANTOS Stadium (in ADEL where this was set) is usually pretty good even when its windy but if coming from one particular direction
it blasts down the track as it did for HALEs run. When we attend state days for Little Aths with our kids they make sure if the wind is up everyone is advised the results will be listed as wind assisted

As I said though well done, and when interviewed on radio HALE credited the fact he was forced to push hard by the lads who came second and third.

It bodes well for the future.

I thought 12 year old Tasmanian girls were the fastest humans in Oz. Had to be quick to get away from their uncles and brothers.
