Coconut water, a substitute for blood plasma?

Was watching the Bush Tucker man DVD s last night he said something about this

Technically it is not a plasmsa subsitute but can be used for intravenous fluid therapy (replacement} if sterile iv fluids were not available

I was told something similar. I guess any thing to keep people alive until proper treatment was available, can't be bad. Bob
