All I can say is thank goodness for diversity
and that is your privilege in this country
just as it is his right to have his opinion...
you'd be doing your nut if i stopped you having your say just because someone else objects to it i would imagine..
whether it is appropriate in whatever circles you mix in is another question altogether and beyond the scope of the guidelines here.
Having had both Santa and the Easter Bunny at our gun club, yearly, I can say with some experience, that kids who are still innocent enough to believe in Santa etc, couldn't care less about mum and dads hobby once the presents or choc eggs come out. Or even before that, they don't understand it and would rather play with what is current for their age group.
I don't enjoy my fathers hobby, reading, he doesn't enjoy his fathers hobby, rugby league. You can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink. IN this instance you are trying to compare our culture to someone else's.
I hear what your saying mate, different cultures and such. I guess the difference for me is there is no way I would want my 5 and 8 year old daughters sitting on santas lap with him holding an AK47. That is not the message I want to send to my kids, but horses for courses I guess.
