Thread: Punctuation marks are annoying the **** out of me.

    Punctuation marks are annoying the **** out of me.

    Has anyone else noticed that in many poster's messages every time they install an apostrophe a question mark is put in?

    I'ts not just in this forum but anywhere on the net where people text.

    Does anyone here know why it's happening?

    If the poster doesn't use correct punctuation there's no problem.

    Is it encouraging bad punctuation or is it a problem from particular brand of phone?

    I hate using my phone for sending messages as I find it to be a pain the arse to keep flicking back and forth between letters and punctuation.

    1. Am I alone in this?

    2. Does anyone know what's causing it?

    3. Can it be fixed easily and brought to peoples attention?

    Never seen it.
    Maybe its when the poster has cut and pasted a section of text with different formatting.

    I see it a lot. I notice it also when I try to view something on my PC when the item was created on an Apple Mac.

    Having said that, I also see it on my iPad.

    I use MacBook, are you seeing it in my posts?

    I'm pretty sure it's coming from phones.

    I'd rather see the odd mistake than some posters stuff where it all runs together with no punctuation at all or upper case letters.
    Where they went to school I either know nor care but it makes my eyes go wonky trying to read some stuff.

    I am old fashioned I was told at school full stop or comma where ever you had to take a breath, some posters leave me blue in the face

    why? 'the ?eternal? question ??? mark is the most ?fundamental? property of 'the ???universe comma all ?other? quotation marks ?are? superfluous comma anyway its all just ??????quantum????? full stop?
