That is very illegal and the ACCC could jump all over them. It is called 'bait advertising'

I know because in my old job we had some visits from Prof Fels and his 'lads'! :?

Can actually buy a new seriesII TD5 runout disco for less than a new defender.

It's a bit late now - but I would 'like to know' where you can purchase a "NEW" - Discovery " Classic " - Td5 -"Town Series" with $5000 worth of extras for 'less' than the new price on a stock Td5 Defender ??

    .
I did a ring around myself this morning and I think my earlier post should now read "Could actually".

It seems remaining disco stock is now sought after and dealers are hanging out for full price on what they have left, particularly as the dealers are not officially selling D3's until April I'm told.

Runout disco's were advertised by LR for $45k about 3 weeks ago. They were base spec manuals, i.e. not Town or Country. One dealer said today that he wished LR would stop advertising stock they have not had for a long time.

Interestingly 1 long established dealer had stopped selling Land Rover and stock levels at the others was minimal.

Got to admit I'm having serious doubts about buying another LR product.
Dont loose patience mate, things will be very hectic for the next few months as the two Disco models cross over at dealerships. Dealers are trying to clear old Series II stock and trying to boost D3 sales at the same time.

I personally, will never buy another product, unless it is 2wd, in that case the next purchase will be an XR8 or GT Falcon, depending on budget. I have grown up with Land Rovers and so will my son.

Stick to it hgb, you will be glad at the end. Matt

Bearing in mind that I've been a diehard LR fan since Noah was a boy, and owned all LR models since the Series with the exception of the current L322, the big question I'm now facing, given that there's probably going to be little change out of $50K, is should I buy one when a base model japero diesel with a 10 year manufacturers warranty can be had for nearly 10 grand cheaper?

    Over to you guys.
All I can say is carefully evaluate your needs, analyse the market, list alternatives, make the tradeoffs, come to a logical decision and then go with what your wife wants.
Checked your first 5 very reasonable purchase considerations and came up with LR product - 3 yr old defender sounds GREAT, me thinks

But SWMBO decides she wants ALL optional bling bling on a NEW D3....... ROFL
(I'd sneek the Dlocker in though, she'd think it's another glovebox or sumfink)

and she also reckons its gonna be black....... NOT

It'll be here in 2008 when someone else runs it in for me ........ or sooner if my lucky balls drop.
